What ScreenBadger handles

The extension records the tab, camera, microphone, and page interactions you choose. Recordings, projects, edits, and exports are stored locally in your browser or at the destination you select. ScreenBadger does not upload this content at launch.

ScreenBadger can run on websites so it can track clicks, scrolling, and page changes while you record. It saves these interactions only during an active recording. For editable-cursor recordings, it uses Chrome's debugger API to capture page frames; Chrome shows a debugging banner while that capture is active.

If you create an account, the service stores your name, email address, authentication records, Pro entitlement, and billing identifiers. Polar processes payment details; ScreenBadger does not store full card details.

Why and how long

Account data is used to authenticate you, restore Pro, provide support, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations. Local recordings remain until you delete them or remove the browser profile or extension. Account data remains until you delete your account, except where retention is legally required.

Your choices

You can use Free without an account, revoke browser permissions, delete local recordings, sign out, or delete your account from profile settings. Cloud sharing and automatic captions are disabled and coming soon.

Chrome Web Store Limited Use

ScreenBadger uses information received from Chrome APIs only to provide its recording and editing features. Its use of this information complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
