A redesigned light interface, a simpler recording popup, a glass lens that keeps typing readable, a recording countdown, and screenshot sharing with Cloud.
What's new
- A new light look across the popup, editor, screenshot studio, and library.
- A redesigned popup. Pick Record or Screenshot, choose This tab or Entire screen, and turn camera, microphone, and tab sound on with switches that each have their own device picker. Frame rate, countdown, Auto zoom, Focus, and Native cursor live under Recording settings.
- Glass lens. Set the zoom type to Glass lens and the whole page stays in view while a magnifier follows the cursor and the caret as you type. Choose the lens size and magnification in the editor.
- A recording countdown. Choose Off, 3, 5, or 10 seconds, and press Esc to cancel before capture starts.
- Share screenshots to Cloud. Choose Share to Cloud in the screenshot studio to upload the finished image and get a link.
- Rotate annotations in the screenshot studio, and drag a whole arrow to move it.
Improvements
- Typing no longer creates automatic zooms. Use Glass lens to keep typed text readable. Unedited typing zooms are removed when older projects open.
- Full-page screenshots that exceed the size limit are scaled down to fit instead of failing, and the Fit preview keeps small text sharper.
- Click an empty spot on the Captions or Annotations lane to add one there.
- The popup closes when recording starts so the countdown is visible, and explains what went wrong if a recording can't start.
Capture and annotate screenshots, share finished videos with Cloud, and get smarter automatic camera moves and typing magnification.
What's new
- Screenshot studio. Capture the visible area, a selected region, or a full scrolling page, then add arrows, text, shapes, numbered steps, highlights, blur, and redaction. Copy it or download a PNG or JPEG. Screenshots are free and never watermarked.
- Cloud sharing. Choose Share to Cloud in Export to upload the finished MP4 and get a watch link. Share with links, embeds, or a password, see views and watch time, and collect timestamped comments and reactions. Cloud includes 25 GB of storage and is available monthly or yearly.
- A smarter automatic camera for new recordings. It follows the cursor smoothly, frames dialogs and menus deliberately, and keeps the field you’re typing in centered.
- Camera styles. Choose Calm, Balanced, or Detail to control how far zooms go and how long they hold. Changing style keeps your manual edits.
- Typing magnification. A lens can enlarge small text fields while you type, and Magnify adds your own lenses with adjustable intensity, radius, and fades.
- Portrait layouts now have their own framing, so you can adjust a vertical version without changing the landscape one.
- Two new recording sources. Tab with native cursor works while DevTools is open, and Entire screen captures your whole display, both up to 1080p. Automatic zoom and privacy tracking are not available in Entire screen mode.

Improvements
- More accurate automatic framing for clicks, with smoother camera motion when one zoom interrupts another.
- Faster exports and smoother playback in the editor.
- A simpler timeline. Secondary tracks sit under More tracks, and selecting a clip or effect opens its inspector.
- New camera and magnification inspectors, better keyboard navigation, and shortcut help in the More menu.
- The preview lowers its resolution under heavy load to stay responsive, without affecting export quality.
- Clearer export progress and a Save video action when an export finishes.
- Updated camera and account controls in the popup.
- The extension now asks for narrower site permissions.
- Cloud uploads retry automatically on a flaky connection and can be cancelled while the editor is open.
Fixes
- Camera footage now starts in sync with the screen recording.
- If a local save fails, the editor shows Retry save and keeps your unsaved changes protected.
- Playback errors no longer leave the editor stuck. Press Play to try again.
- If your sign-in expires, the extension asks you to sign in again instead of failing quietly.
- Cloud access continues while a past-due payment is being retried.
The first public release of ScreenBadger, a Chrome extension for recording a tab and turning it into a polished MP4 or GIF.
What's new
- Record a browser tab for up to 60 minutes at 30 or 60 fps, with tab audio, your microphone, and your camera.
- A small control window lets you pause, resume, and stop. Paused time is left out of the video.
- The cursor is recorded separately, so you can change its style and size and add click effects after recording.
- Automatic zooms follow your clicks, and Focus on what changed can frame a dialog, menu, or status message that a click reveals. Every zoom is editable on the timeline.
- A timeline editor with trim, split, delete, undo and redo, and section speeds from 0.5× to 4× with pitch-preserving audio.
- Find dead time suggests inactive stretches and lets you remove, speed up, or ignore each one.
- Sensitive fields such as passwords, emails, tokens, and payment details are blurred automatically. Alt+Shift-click any element while recording to mark it private, or draw a timed blur by hand.
- Write captions or import SRT and VTT files, edit the transcript, and style burned-in subtitles.
- Timed text, arrows, boxes, numbered badges, spotlights, and keyboard shortcut overlays.
- Automatic chapters from your zooms, exportable as timestamps or as an HTML step guide with an image for each step.
- Canvas styling with colors, gradients, wallpapers, or your own image, plus camera position, size, and shape. Save it all as a style preset.
- Export MP4 up to 4K or a GIF up to 30 seconds, with presets for YouTube, X, LinkedIn, Shorts, Reels, and TikTok. Rendering happens on your device.
- A local recording library to search, rename, and delete recordings, with recovery after an interrupted session.
- The Free plan includes unlimited watermark-free MP4 exports up to 720p. Pro Lifetime, a one-time purchase, adds watermark-free exports through 4K and re-recording a selected section.
- The ScreenBadger website launched with plans, pricing, and accounts.
