Why use it

Why use this image resizer?

Exact sizes for any platform

Hit the dimensions a CMS, app store or social network asks for, down to the pixel.

Aspect ratio stays locked

Type a width and the height follows, so nothing gets stretched. Unlock it when you really do need a different shape.

Sharp downscaling

Large reductions are done in steps, which keeps edges and text cleaner than a single resize.

Nothing is uploaded

Resizing runs in your browser, so the image is processed on your device and never touches a server.

Good to know

What does resizing an image do?

Resizing changes how many pixels an image has. Making it smaller reduces file size and load time; making it larger cannot add detail, so upscaled images look softer. For the web, resize to the largest size the image is actually shown at, then compress it.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Which formats can I resize?

PNG, JPG and WebP are saved in their original format. Other formats your browser can open, such as GIF or BMP, are saved as PNG.

Will resizing reduce quality?

Shrinking an image keeps it sharp. Enlarging it spreads the same detail over more pixels, so it will look softer the further you go.

Is there a size limit?

Browsers cannot create images wider or taller than 16,384 pixels, so the tool stops you before that. Very large photos may also be slow on older devices.

Are my images private?

Yes. The image is resized in your browser and is never uploaded.
